The three golden words that any entrepreneur will run across any given day. When I first started on this journey, I didn’t quite understand exactly what it meant to “Do It Yourself”. My opinion of this saying was filled with shallow thoughts that quickly were blown away by the incoming barrage of responsibility to my business, business partners, family, and myself. My time quickly was swallowed up by the increasing demands from the level of professionalism necessary to be successful in the music business.
Luckily, I’m the type of guy that was raised to work hard for what I truly want and never settle for anything less than what I desire. Known YouTuber, Curtiss King, has played such a important part in my development as an artist and a business owner. His informative approach to up-coming artists and producers is a wealth of knowledge made available for free. That’s why I believe knowledge is only power when you share it.
Since leaving the Air Force, I’ve made it my mission to learn as much about the different processes of the business that I wasn’t familiar with in the beginning. I’ve studied how marketing tools work, how distribution is conducted, how branding is established, how websites are built, and much more pertaining to the operations of running a business. But a lot of my knowledge comes from bad experiences. These situations made me not want to go through them ever again so I made sure to gain the knowledge to prevent future disasters.
I encourage everyone to think about becoming an entrepreneur because of the freedom and financial liberty that is accompanied with it. I encourage you to become comfortable with uncertainty and go on dates with risks. Remember, this is YOUR dream and that’s priceless.
